PlateBurn — Privacy Policy

PlateBurn ("the app") is made by Ignis Algos Inc. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and who it is shared with. The short version: you have no account with us, your body profile never leaves your phone, and meal photos are analyzed in transit — not stored.
Information you enter
During setup, PlateBurn asks for your weight, goal weight, height, age, and sex so it can personalize calorie-burn equivalents. This profile is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us or anyone else. Your scan history and daily scan count are also stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Meal photos and AI analysis
When you scan a meal, the photo is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server, which passes it to Google's Gemini AI service (Google LLC) to identify the foods and estimate calories and macros. Photos are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers after the analysis is returned to your phone. We do not use your photos to train models. Google processes the image as our service provider under its own data-processing terms.
Technical logs
Our server keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address and request time) for a short period to operate the service, enforce the free-scan rate limit, and prevent abuse. These logs are not used for advertising or profiling.
Purchases
If you buy PlateBurn Pro, the transaction is processed by Google Play. Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, receives purchase and receipt information so the app can verify and restore your entitlement. Neither Google nor RevenueCat receives your meal photos or body profile from us.
What we never do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers are collected.
- No analytics or cross-app tracking SDKs.
- We never sell personal information.
- No account or sign-up is required to use PlateBurn.
Health disclaimer
PlateBurn's calorie, macro, and exercise figures are estimates (typically within about ±20%) provided as a decision aid. They are not medical or dietary advice, measurements, or a substitute for guidance from your doctor or a registered dietitian. PlateBurn is intended for adults.
Children
PlateBurn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
Because your profile and history live only on your device, you control them: edit them in the app, or delete the app to erase them. If you contacted us for support, you may ask us to delete that correspondence at any time.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
